Terms and Conditions

The rules for shopping and selling on Sourcelio: what you can expect from us, and what we expect from buyers and vendors.

Last updated 15 October 2026

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Sourcelio, the marketplace operated by Sourcelio Ltd(“Sourcelio”, “we”, “us”). That includes our website, our web app and the vendor dashboard (the “Services”). By creating an account, placing an order or opening a shop, you agree to them.

Sourcelio is a marketplace. Products are sold by independent vendors, not by Sourcelio. When you buy, your contract for the goods is with the vendor. We provide the platform, take payment on the vendor’s behalf, arrange delivery where offered, and handle support, refunds and disputes as described below.

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

2. Your account

  • You must be at least 18, and give accurate information.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
  • One account can be used for both buying and selling. Opening a shop doesn’t change your buyer account.
  • You can close your account at any time from the app or by contacting us.

3. Buying on Sourcelio

  • Prices: they are set by vendors and shown in the vendor’s currency, along with delivery costs, before you pay. A basket can only contain items priced in one currency.
  • Payment: it is taken at checkout through our payment providers: Stripe for GBP, USD and EUR, and Paystack for NGN, GHS and KES. Your order is confirmed once payment succeeds, and we email you a confirmation.
  • Out of stock: if a vendor can’t fulfil an item, we will cancel that item and refund you for it.
  • Delivery: estimated times are estimates, not guarantees. We email you when your order is dispatched, with tracking where available.
  • Food: check product descriptions for ingredients and allergens. If you have questions about an item, ask the vendor or contact support before you order.

4. Cancellations, returns and refunds

If an order arrives damaged, incorrect or incomplete, or doesn’t arrive, contact us through the app or at support@sourcelio.com, with your order number and photos where relevant. We will review it with the vendor and, where appropriate, refund you in full or in part to your original payment method.

Fresh and perishable food cannot be returned simply because you changed your mind once it has been dispatched. This doesn’t affect your legal rights, including your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods.

5. Selling on Sourcelio

Opening a shop

  • To sell, you complete shop setup and verification (KYC) with the documents required in your country. We may approve, reject or ask for more information at our discretion.
  • Information you give us must be true and kept up to date, including your business details and bank account.

Listings

  • You may only list goods you are entitled to sell, that are lawful in the buyer’s and your country, and that you describe accurately, including allergens for food.
  • New and changed listings may be reviewed before buyers can see them. We may remove listings that break these terms.
  • You set your own prices and stock levels, and must honour orders placed at the listed price.

Orders and dispatch

  • You must prepare and dispatch paid orders by the dispatch deadline shown in your dashboard, and pack food safely and hygienically.
  • Repeated late or failed dispatches, or a high level of complaints, may lead to restrictions or suspension.

6. Fees and payouts

  • Sourcelio charges vendors a commission on each completed sale. It is 5% by default, unless a different rate is agreed with you in writing.
  • We collect payment from buyers on your behalf. Commission and any refunds are deducted before payout.
  • Payouts are made in batches to the bank account in your settings. Each payout shows as Pending, Processing and Paid in your dashboard, and bank transfers can take a few business days to arrive.
  • We may hold or adjust a payout while we investigate a dispute, refund, suspected fraud or a breach of these terms.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes.

7. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • break the law, or sell or buy prohibited, counterfeit, stolen or unsafe goods;
  • mislead or defraud other users, or take transactions off the platform to avoid fees;
  • post content that is abusive, discriminatory or infringes someone else’s rights;
  • interfere with the Services, for example by scraping, reverse engineering or attempting unauthorised access;
  • use another person’s account or payment details without permission.

8. Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account, remove content, or restrict selling if we reasonably believe these terms or the law have been broken, or to protect our users. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. A suspended shop can still read its orders and contact support. Closing an account doesn’t cancel orders already placed, payments owed or obligations that should survive.

9. Your content and our content

You keep ownership of the content you upload, such as product photos, descriptions, logos and reviews. You give us a licence to use it to operate and promote the Services. The Sourcelio name, logo and the Services themselves belong to us.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide the Services with reasonable care and skill. Vendors are responsible for the goods they sell. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses of buyers, or for events outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the Services or the law. We will give you notice of important changes by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using the Services after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can close your account.

12. Governing law and disputes

Please contact us first. Most problems can be fixed quickly at support@sourcelio.com. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country and can bring proceedings in your local courts.
